According to
Variety, Eric Bana is in final negotiations to star opposite Saoirse Ronan in the new assassin pic
Hanna.
The story focuses around a 14 year-old girl who has been raised by her father as an assassin. After spending her entire life living in the wilderness, she leaves the woods for the very first time to tackle her first hit on a high-ranking government official who has a lot to hide.
Joe Wright (
Atonement,
Pride & Prejudice,
The Soloist) will direct the pic with a screenplay by Seth Lochhead. Shooting will begin in March in Germany.
Bana's most recent roles include that of the villainous Nero in last year's
Star Trek reboot. He also appeared in writer/director Judd Apatow's comedy
Funny People, and starred opposite Rachel McAdams in the romantic drama
The Time Traveller's Wife.
