Well MyWii & MyPS3 have their "what song are you listening to" thread (the other sites might have them too but not sure) so I thought for MyBluRay we could have a "What are you watching now (or watched last)" thread.

Right now Im watching

American Pie - The Naked Mile

Pretty funny start to the movie.
About to watch Paranormal Activity 3....I said I wouldnt but.... Here I am.... -_-
Winter's Bone, what was so special about this film that it deserved its praise? 2/5

Yeah I agree, I wasn't impressed either. I'd give it 2.5 though.
Kick-Ass - 5/5 - I love it, could watch it weekly.

Beginners - 3/5 - Plummer definitely deserves the Oscar but the film was a bit boring and the story-telling was strange.

Underworld - 3/5 - trying to get through them all before the new one this week.

Whiteout - 2/5 - stupid film.
Stranger than Fiction, such a great film, probably Will Ferrell's best, 4/5

Classic and agreed.
Right At Your Door - 3.5/5 - I really want to know the budget for this cause it was incredible for a production I assume was made for under a million. It is well-told and it builds the tension really well. The opening scene before the credits and the finale were the only times I thought the film was terrible, the acting before the credits was really bad and the finale wasn't thought out enough. Apart from that though it was really good, I had a blast with it.

Shopgirl - 1/5 - the worst movies I've seen for months, probably since the Mechanic. I can't believe all the talent involved could produce such a terrible film.

John Tucker Must Die - 2/5 - haven't seen this movie in a long time, it is a pretty enjoyable slice of stupid.

Seeking Justice - 2/5 - not as terrible as I was expecting. It was enjoyable for what it was, but it certainly isn't a masterstroke of filmmaking.

Death at a Funeral US - 2/5 - I'm not a big fan of the original and I'm not a fan of this one either. Marsden is good and Danny Glover is pretty funny but the rest of the cast are very lacklustre. When did Luke Wilson get fat?

Exit Through the Gift Shop - 4/5 - doesn't matter if it is real or fake, this doco is utterly engrossing and very fun. Those that love street art will love it because they'll see a film taking the piss out of the art world; those new to street art see an interesting look at the birth of street art and the characters that make it so popular. Great film.

HappyThankYouMorePlease - 3/5 - I like to think of this as a film aiming for the indie rom-com heights of (500) Days of Summer or Garden State but it falls just short. It does have some very nice moments and it feels very genuine, but it stumbles a bit in the script department. Good first effort from How I Met Your Mother's Josh Radnor.
Just finished watching A Fish Called Wanda for the umpteenth time. Man, I love that movie.
Die Hard - 4/5 - such an awesome movie.

Waiting for Forever - 2/5 - it had its heart int he right place but the characters were d-bags and writing was quite weak.

Another Earth - 4/5 - it was nice, the scenes between the leads were very strong and I loved the ending.

Phone Booth - 3/5 - really fun film, 78 minutes of pure fun.
Yeah Phone Booth is teh awesomesness. Wanted to check the quality of a copy I got recently and ended up watching it for half an hour =D

It is really good. I should probably give it more than 3 out of 5 lol. I haven't seen it since I saw it in cinemas, can't believe it is almost 10 years.
Watching foxtel channel [V]
Die Hard 2 - 2.5/5 - it is good, but far too similar to the first and it gets a bit boring towards the end.

Slither - 4/5 - I love it. It is hilarious and gross.

Die Hard: With a Vengeance - 4/5 - my favourite Die Hard. The story is fantastic and the chemistry between the leads is great. So glad it didn't become Lethal Weapon 4, as was originally planned.

Repo Men - 3/5 - it wasn't as awful as a lot of people made out. I just hated that it stole so blatantly from other films. It lifted the hallway scene from Oldboy, the ending was straight from Vanilla Sky... and there were heaps more. Law was awesome though and I always love an action film that is willing to push the gore boundaries.

Die Hard 4.0 - 4/5 - the action is awesome and so are the cast.

Lethal Weapon - 2/5 - haven't seen it in a long time and I remember it being so much better. The plot is almost non-existant, they spend more time doing random shit than actually finding the drug ring.
I watched Rango for the first time last night. Amazing animation and pretty funny in parts. Surprised to find out Bill Nighy was Rattlesnake Jake. I did not pick that when watching the movie.

What do you mean? Was the story originally going to be used for Lethal Weapon 4?

Krycek said:What do you mean? Was the story originally going to be used for Lethal Weapon 4?

Yeah the Die Hard 3 script was originally going to be the 4th Lethal Weapon film. The writer said they barely had to change the script at all to make it work for Die Hard, pretty much just changing Simon to Simon Gruber to fit the series.
Been watching OZ lately. An oldie but a goldie.
Summer of Sam - 4/5 - I haven't seen it in such a long time. The film is a ****ing mess, but goddamn I love it. I doubt it was intended, but the messy, all-over-the-place style of the direction and narrative enhance the fact that this serial killer almost destroyed a city. It is my favourite Spike Lee joint for sure.

the Disappearance of Alice Creed - 3.5/5 - there is only 1 line of dialogue in the first 10 minutes and it is the most thrilling and exciting portion of the film. The direction is well-handled and Marsan is awesome. I really liked this, I liked how minimalist it was.

Red Eye - 2/5 - terrible film. Few redeeming qualities, the cast are probably the only reason to see this film. I remembered hating and I really wish I hadn't re-watched it.

Surrogates - 1/5 - I thought Red Eye was bad, I followed it up with this ****ing stinker. What a terrible waste of talent and potential. My god, worst film I've seen in years.
So what you are saying is I should never watch Surrogates? Wasn't really planning to but if it is truly terrible then I will avoid watching it if the opportunity arises.

Avoid that shit like the plague.
Footloose (2011) - 3/5 - actually didn't mind this. The cast were very likeable and it was very well shot. The story is utter shit, but that was always the case with the original too.

Bronson - 2/5 - so much wasted potential. The direction and style were all over the place. I think he was trying to make a point or make a film that stylistically match Bronson's life? I have no idea, all I know is that it was a mess of a film. Hardy was brilliant though. I would however be happy with never seeing his penis again.

Insidious - 3/5 - I had lots of fun with it. Can't believe it was made for just over a million. Really does show you don't need big money to make a good movie.

Final Destination - 3/5 - I still find the original a bit too serious, doesn't let its hair down like the others. But it is good and it stylistically a lot different from the others in the series.

the Good, the Bad, the Weird - 4.5/5 - I loved it. It is so much fun and the action is fantastic (and non-stop!). The cast were so great. After watching this and I Saw the Devil, I will be delving deeper into the directors other films.

Tsotsi - 3.5/5 - It was good but don't know how it won best foreign film in 06. The main actor is strong and his story of redemption is an original one, but it just felt a bit hollow at times. Might watch it again, could improve on repeat viewings.

Cemetery Junction - 2/5 - I really don't like Ricky Gervais and this doesn't improve that. Fairly weak film and nothing that hasn't been done before and better. Felicity Jones is so cute though. I'm in love.

Leap Year - 1/5 - woah this was bad. Not even the likeable cast could save this stinker.
hey why is there 2 of these threads?

I refuse to see footloose.. I loved the original.. I'm scared it will make me angry.. some remakes I like. like Charlie and the chocolate factory.. was actually based more on the book.. and Alice in wonderland was different.. not as good as the tv movie ones though.. :S

This is the original, the other one goes across sites.

Footloose sticks very closely to the original, you probably won't gain anything from revisiting it.
oh ok..

last movie I saw was a couple of nights ago, winters bone.. man what a film.. it's strange cause I normally prefer action and comedy over drama but that film tugged at some heart strings..
