Never been so impressed by a pilot before. In fact, I haven't been so impressed by a zombie movie/show before this. The sub-plot involving Morgan and his wife is powerful stuff. Loved the closing scenes in the city as well!

I read that the show has already been renewed that all future seasons will have 13 episodes (this one has 6). Very cool stuff. Excited to see where this goes.

Yeah, season 2 and 3 will have 13 eps.

Premiere was the most viewings AMC have ever had.
And it was on Halloween when a lot of people were out partying.

Finished airing around 5 hours ago?

Anyone get the feeling that the affair has been going on longer than the Zombie apocalypse has?

Lori seems happy with Shane, and even neglects Carl for him (My biggest gripe...)

In the comic they only did it once and Lori was never that happy about it.

In this they are going out in the woods doing it for fun.

Do you guy think that Rick will go back for Merle?

He's listed for all 6 eps, so we will see more of him.

Also, how awesome is Glenn!
They perfectly captured what Glenn is like in the comics.

Andrea was never that old, but I guess it makes her relationship with Dale more understandable.

Also, are we allowed to talk about comic book spoilers here?

Haha, called "Guts" for a very good reason. And yes, I actually got a feeling during the opening scenes of the pilot that this affair had been going on for a while before, just the way Shane looked at Rick when he was talking about his issues with his wife.

Good to see Laurie Holden in there too! Glenn was great, but I was hoping we would see more of Morgan and his son, but according to IMDb, Lennie James is only down for the pilot :(

Anybody else get the feeling they are setting Michael Rooker up to be that super villain from the comics?

I can't remember the characters name, Shiv will remember it. I haven't read that far but he got voted one of the most epic villains of all-time.

I think this cause Rooker is to big of an actor to just leave dying on the roof. Plus he could play a great villain.

Loved the 2nd epic more than the first, this show is going to be one of the greats!

Haha, he definitely isn't the Governor.
He has a whole community, that's why he is so dangerous.

Rooker is in every ep left in the season, so unless he goes off and makes a community he isn't going to be the Governor.

Seeing as he is in the remaining eps I think it'd be safe to say he is going to be the main villain.
I'm not even sure if [spoilers]Shane will be killed this season[/spoilers]

I think Rick will go back and save him though, even though there was some significance of the toolbox being knocked over.

We won't see the Governor till at least season 3 though.
Maybe even season 4, depending on how much time they intend to spend in the prison, which was the longest arc in the comics by a mile.

I think 2 will be Hershel's farm.
They clearly aren't wasting a single moment and are really taking their time. So I think season 2 could last up until the prison.
I don't see season 3 being the end of the Prison arc though.

Apparently they are scouting for fields now, not prisons.

No way in hell though would they waste the Governor in the first season. That arc is the most epic thing ever and has so many ****ed up things happen.
Ending is great as well.

I don't think they can wait. In a perfect world TWD will get 10 seasons and the comics will be played out perfectly in order. But it won't, I reckon it will get 5 or 6 at the most, so why keep one of the all-time great comic book villains to one of the shows last seasons? All of the great shows have a constant villain, TWD should be the same. The sooner they introduce him I think the better off the show is.

I also think they'll need to change him a bit, from what I've heard of the Governor's community and such, it sounds like a stupid story line and I don't see it working in a tv show. The prison and farm I do, but the community I don't. I think towards the end of the next season you'll start to see the show shift away from the comics, similar to how Dexter, True Blood etc. gradually drifted away from their source material.

The Governor is dangerous BECAUSE of his community.
I don't see why they would waste him on a season without the prison when they could just make up a new villain.

I think he would be great for season 4.
I can see the show running AT LEAST that long, and it would be great to pick the show up again as Lithgow did in Dex.

Why use everything all at once.
Also, I can't see them straying too far from the source material, because it is gold. Especially in the prison arc.

The Dexter books are shit, could you really imagine Dex showing Astor and Cody how to kill?

They've already started moving away from the comics, for example the relationship between Shane and Lori, the fact the group is bigger, they have this Merle character, Glenn taking more people into the city, the tank... already starting to change stuff and I don't think they'll be able to help themselves from using one of the great characters so early, and I don't blame them, I'd do the same. My favourite shows always have villians which appear and keep re-appearing instead of having just 1 season etc.

But we'll see.
