Hey guys, just thought we could have a thread like this to post scripts, links to videos, ideas, questions, basically anything to do with Filmmaking :)

I'll start this off with a question.
Anyone know why there's a 40 dollar price difference between a white board clapboard and a chalkboard one?

I'd like to get a white one but 50 bucks is expensive, especially since I'm saving for this:

Sony HDR AX2000
RRP in Australia: $5,800 :S

Also, I have a short Zombie comedy film being shot this weekend, then a week after that I am shooting a fairly big film.

If anyone wants to read any of my scripts, or wants to start writing scripts, I recommend this program.

Info session, some lady just outlined how to enrol and what you're required to do to complete the course etc. Waste of time, cause we enrol online, at Swinburne you have to enrol there on the day.

Oh, well that's kinda pointless.

My girlfriend teaches acting classes at screen actors.

I guess I am yeah, still haven't looked at subjects, really interested in the motion capture and maybe even animation so let's see how it goes.

I really wish they outlined the course content or unit material in these enrolment days, they did that at Swinny also and it takes until a week or two into the semester to actually grasp what is required.

School-goers of yesteryear may or may not remember receiving an information pack regarding a short film competition run by Shark Island Productions and The Oasis with the theme "Youth Homelessness in Australia" which was open to secondary school students across Australia.
Well I got two of my mates who could act (and by act I mean being able to sit, stare and walk) and made a short film, entered into it and were a finalists. It didn't win, but we got to meet Cate Blanchett though, so that was reward enough! :D
And we won $1000 for my school so that was cool.
Anyway, link's here if you're interested.
Before you watch it, please keep in mind that I completed this in two weeks, from script to editing, with my final year 12 exams only 3 weeks away from that, so it's not amazing, and I had really shoddy equipment.

I live in Ballarat.
That would be awesome!
I really have no experience in organizing and making short films "properly", so it'd be great to learn the ropes. After all, you really seem to know what you're doing! :D

Doing Intro to Animation and Pixel to Print first semester, don't think I will go any further with the photography though, as I enjoy photoshop etc but not so much the old film cameras etc. Who knows though. Still have to submit my credit application so my course might be cut off up to a year?

I have no idea what to do about the stress haha, just go with it it's an awesome opportunity.

Yeah, I'm there. We're probably in the same classes lol? I think I recognised the guy in your Death of Cinema film in my Writing with the Camera, Josh is it? I'm sure we will cross paths sooner or later!
